ABOUT

Joan Lansdell has made the Okanagan valley her home from the age of 4 when her family moved to Vernon from Wainwright, AB.
She left to go to the University of British Columbia for her Bachelors of Science in Nursing in 1952 and went on to become a public health nurse living and working throughout B.C.
Joan returned to the Okanagan in 1968 to Kelowna and then settled in Summerland for 35 years before retiring to her current home of Penticton after raising two sons.
Joan had learned to work in oils, water colours and pastels during the ages of 9-18 from a wonderful private art teacher, Jessie Topham Brown.
After a fifty year hiatus from painting, Joan returned to painting using pastels as her medium. She is presently working in acrylics and encaustics as well.
She enjoys painting landscapes of local Okanagan scenes as well as painting scenes from countries she has visited.
Joan now lives in Penticton, B.C and has been featured in a number of solo and group exhibitions throughout the Okanagan valley.
